just choke it down, you can try Crystallight, good stuff, low calorie, green tea, herbal means to flavor the water, but the best thing is a good glass of filtered water, aquire the taste, water is good stuff, gona go get myself a glass right now actualy.-------------- Sean "TBAR" Johnson -USAF- |

if you flavor it with lime or lemon that can be a start to drinking a lot of it. try drinking it without ice too. maybe keep a filtered pitcher in your fridge so you can drink it cold without having to add the ice. even if you hate the taste of it you need to drink it to keep your body running clean.
tell yourself every morning that you have to drink it or you won't reach your goals. it will become 2nd nature to drink the water instead of the other junk. if all else fails go to hooters and order a plate of their hottest wings and tell your waitress that you can only have water to drink. i promise you you'll drink it without thinking twice. -------------- success comes before work only in the dictionary. that's right. |

you don't drink water? you hate it? so with this negative attitude, tell me what you do do??? have you ever thought about being positive and getting real here... You obviously signed up here for a reason. One of them must have been to accept some change to lifestyle for a health concern. Water is in everything and to say - don't, can't, wont, etc... is going to scuper all your future plans.
You drink something already, so change it to water, hot or water cold with a twist of flavour. Start where you can say an effort has been made by you and not closed down with ''I cant''- There are bags(and spoons) of ideas- decaf coffee/tea, green tea, chamomille, raspberry, echinacea, ginger, miso soup, blah, blah.... open your eyes to water+ and get positive about what you tell yourself you can't do- 'cause with that attitude you never will anything. |

I'm with Neiltilley. Stop complaining about it and just drink it. It has no taste and it's good for you. Period.

I love water, it is all i drink. THanks to my boyfriend. That is all he will let me order at lunch or dinner if he is buying so he got me used to it. I have a water cooler($100 at Home Depot or Lowes) in my house with a 5 gal. jug that i fill up at the Watermill Express(filtered water station), it is the best water ever and for $1.25 for 5 gal. pretty cheap i think. I can't drink tap water it is awful here in Lubbock,TX.

just a fun fact for you skeys...the tap water in lubbock comes from lake meredith, which is becoming increasingly salinous as the years go by. it's a good thing you're buying filtered water because the state doesn't find it necessary to install a filtration system.
another fun fact - the water in bryan/college station is slightly acidic. maybe all that stuff about aggies being crazy because of something in their water is true, because i drank bottled while i was in school there and never became part of the cult. gotta love our great state of texas:) -------------- success comes before work only in the dictionary. that's right. |

howdiekat--
Yes, Amarillo's water also comes from Meredith but it is ten times better than Lubbock's. Sometimes in Lubbock you can smell fish and even taste it, it suck to brush your teeth with it when it is that way. I am only in Lubbock going to school at Tech and plan on moving back to Amarillo as soon as possible. But i plan on living in Texas the rest of my life, i love it:love: |

Last time I went to my dentist she told me that people should drink tap water instead of bottled water. Tap water provides flouride and bottled water does not. She said studies have shown there are a lot more dental problems since people have started drinking more bottled vs. tap water. I went back to drinking tap water since she told me that.

You can just get a flouride supplement, if that is your concern, tap water can be quite nasty sometimes.-------------- Vitality shows not only in the ability to persist but the ability to start over. - F. Scott Fitzgerald |

We all know that water is important but I've never seen it written down like this before.
75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world pop.) In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%. One glass of water shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U-Washington study. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day? And if your a coke drinker.... No wonder coke tastes soooo good: In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and ... Let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for sumptuous brown gravy. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, And run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield. FYI: The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its Ph is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the hazardous material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years! There's an article that I found a long time ago, pretty interesting. Water doesn't taste like anything and at first your not going to like it. Drink 1 gallon a day (atleast) and after a while you'll learn to love it . |
