I want to share the following very personal information in case there are other people out there who are struggling. I've been participating on this website for about 8 weeks and here is what has happend to me.
When I started, my daily caloric intake was under 800 calories a day, now it's 1500 clean calories. I've been walking a 20 minute mile three times a week and I've been trying very hard to do my ft fitness program. When I started out, I was doing biceps curls, just a few every day using a 5lb weight, now I use a 10lb weight.
So, this doesn't sound so amazing but here's what else. I have two rare disorders that have caused extensive nerve damage, pain, muscle weakness and tremors. It's all permanent, the best one can hope for is the guts to keep moving. Today, I walked my mile without taking my meds! I didn't do it on purpose, but I felt so good that I forgot to take them.
I'm not saying that it's a good idea, the purpose of my post is to say that good nutrition, moderate exercise and friends who believe in you and encourage you make a huge difference.
You guys and my ft program have done more for me in 8 weeks than the God knows how many neurologists, etc. It might not last and I'm okay with that because even one really fabulous day when I feel like a normal person means more to me than you can imagine. I wouldn't ask for more than I've been given and for all that I've been given, I am truly grateful and amazed.
So, in a nutshell, when I walked my mile without meds, you were all there with me and I could not have had this day without you.

There's a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid
Of what you are
There's an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away
And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you
Thank you all so much for your kind words and encouragement. Asimmer is right, we do need a blushing happy face.
