I was sitting here thinking this morning about the goals I have set for my health and fitness, and wondering if I am the only one who gives themselves a reward for making the mark.

For example, when I hit my first goal, I treated myself to a weekend away from it all. When I reach my overall mark, I am going to have a little plastic surgery that I need.

This is not a bad thing, is it?

Not a bad thing at all. Giving yourself rewards for accomplishing your goals is a great way to stay motivated.

I'm going on a big hiking trip soon that I had set as a reward for myself. I don't think it is bad at all, but plastic surgery? Hummm, I don't know about that. I am scared of being put to sleep!:)

You know, it's funny, I haven't really thought about it... I think, at this point, I'm happier knowing I'm healthier than I was a year ago...

Good idea!

For me just reaching my goals is reward enough. I have never even really considered rewarding my self when i reach my goals.

Living with all the folks in this lil head is reward enough.

Seriously though, I get a cheat meal each week except ST Pat's day and I eat green frosted cupcakes.

I have a print by Howard Schatz on my living room wall, it's called Passion and Line. She is my motivation, I want to look like she does. My reward is the routine morning "naked check." Everyday that I wake up and I'm closer to my goal is a great reward. After that, I think my reward should be brand new, size C, store-bought breasts! Freakin fabulous....

My goal is to lift my wifes 1997 4-door geo metro off the ground. My reward for that is more deadlifts! LOL

Shopping:love: is the ultimate reward because it means buying clothes in the right size, that look great on you.

But as for the surgery thing, I told my hubby that if I reach my physical goals AND MAINTAIN them for a year, I too will surgically enhance those two things that can't be improved any other way.

It still comes back to how the clothes fit!

Hey, I paid major bucks to have my two things made smaller!

Anyway, at least now I know that others reward themselves. I do get a great sense of accomplishment from just reaching the goals, but call it justification for getting something I want or not...it still feels good to grab your purse and go!! (or pick up the phone and make an appointment):laugh:

I am my own reward for my goals. When i reach my goals, i am able to look in the mirror and smile. Its been a while since i had been able to do that. I just passed a goal of adding 100lbs to my deadlift in 1 month. (yeah, i know, extreme improvement there...but a lot of it was getting in the mindset of mind over matter). I deadlifted over 200 lbs, and all day i felt incredible. I looked in the mirror and i didn't see the same 19 yr old guy struggling to get by in this world that i used to. I felt big, i felt strong, but i felt something i hadn't felt in a long time: a thirst for more. My goal in the back of my head then became 'be strong like animal'. I could either be disappointed that my weight dropoped 10 lbs, gained 15 lbs, then lost 5 again, but fact is, my strength is peaking at new levels each time i lift and its an amazing feeling to me.

My newest reward for my strength achievemnts is going to be get my diet straight once im back at home. Its pretty good, but not as good as it could be. I'm back to gaining weight again, but i really want to hit that 180-190 mark. i want to look how i feel. that is reward enough for me. But now i'm so addicted to working out, i'm thinking about joining a powerlifting team when i start attending my new school next year. I have seen something incredible i haven't seen in myself before, and i know i can do it.

I am my reward, and ongoing piece of art being sculpted by experiences and people daily.

I would reward myself after reaching my goals, but my goals constantly change. One day I want to be big, one day I want to be ripped. I do plan on having a little surgery once I reach my goal.
