I have an aversion to water. It is all I can do to drink it, I hate it and find myself rather close to throwing a child-like fit when I get to the third of my many glasses that I should drink a day.

But, thanks to sugar free cinnimon gum, I am starting to learn that this dislike of H2O might be more related to being "thirsty" than the taste. When I chew this gum, I get really thirsty and can drink water like a fish.

Can anybody tell me why this is and if there are any negatives to my new found crutch?

I don't know about the gum, but there seems to be a lot of "us" out there with this aversion to water. It's funny, those that don't have this aversion, can't understand what we're talking about, and they think we're nuts! There must be some scientific reason....hmmm....must start research.....

You've probably heard this before but have you tried to flavor your water with crystal light, lemon, or something similar? Orbit cinnamon gum is THE best. Unfortunately, it's not sugar free. Bummer

I like Dragon Fire cinnamon gum (and it is sugar-free and comes in a cool tin!

Drink herbal, non-caffienated teas, crystal light, caffiene free diet soda, sparkling water, sugar-free flavored water, so many options!

Sometimes i am awestruck at how good a glass of really cold water tastes!

Ok, so I am not as weird as I thought...

Well, I do drink caffine free diet coke and decaf tea sweetened with spenda. I have tried putting a little lemon in my water, doesn't help much though...

I guess I am just looking for a way to get more of the pure stuff..you know, without the sodium and other additives.

Asimmer, I do love a good drink of water...but only when I am thirsty...it's when I am not active and not needing to quench my thirst that I have the most problem...since nobody reports any major drawback to the cinnimon gun thing, I will continue with that...where can I find this Dragon gum you like?

As always, thanks for the advice everybody!!

Call me weird, but I don't like gum!!

I had braces when I was a kid and wasn't allowed to chew it... so, for the time I had the braces I stayed away from it... can probably count the amount I've chewed since on two hands... now if I chew it, it makes me hungry and makes my gums itch... (dunno if that's weird or not!)

And really, I can't see the point in chewing gum... if you're chewing something, don't you just wanna swallow it?

pink limonade in water tastes good( 1/4 of a packet) to cut down on the suger but it gives it a better taste.

Thank you Charlie.

I needed to know that I am trying desperately to force higher quantities of something that fish, at some time, boinked in, into my body.

eeewwwllll...it just occured to me that they defecate in it too.:(

'Boinked', now that's a term you just don't hear everyday. After reading this post I hope I don't get a water complex.

I'm with you Tim.

I do believe if someone offers you gum you should take it ('have a piece of gum.. please!).

But invariably, the moment it feels.. fully chewed.. it's gone, down the hatch before I can think, hey, I should spit this out now.:surprised:
