Well, I have been at it for 2 months and I have made some incredible progress. I bought my weider home gym on october 13th and have been using it every day for 2 months. I now have a real good diet and I have never felt better. My weight has stayed about the same, I have lost some of my spare tire and have gained some serious muscle in my chest shoulders and arms. In the morning I do 15 minutes on the treadmill to warm up and then I do curls, situps and then work my upper body on the machine then 10 minute cool down on the treadmill. Then after diner do 10 min on the treadmill then use the machine to work my chest and legs.
My wife has noticed the difference and is quite pleased with my progress. She is now working out with me every other day and is starting to see results.
This website is a great resource for information and inspiration. Thanks everyone Andy

Congratulations to you eggharbor! Wonderful progress. Makes us proud that we can be a part of it. It is nice to be noticed by your significant other, and to have her working out with you also. Great achievement! High 5's to you both.

Isn't it a great reward when you see the results? Keep up the good hard work. Please keep us updated. Your post is very motivating.
Reddy you can workout everyday providing you work different muscle groups. Muscles do need to rest. You are not confused.

If you are using the cardio for just a small warmup, then this is fine. A few minutes at a light pace to get some blood flowing. But, yes, try to spit up your weights and cardio(the real stuff).

I am working all muscles everyday, I do that 6 days a week. My workouts last 45 minutes. My calorie intake is aroung 1900-2100 including my whey protien shakes after each workout. Im not changing a thing, this seems to work really well for me right now. I have been increasing the weights on my machine and im feelin good. Just have to quit smoking now. Maybe new years?

Congratulations on your progress Andy. Sounds as if things are going well for you. If it works for you and you are making the progress that you desire, stick with it but don't be afraid to change things up if YOU ever feel the need to. I'm also glad to hear that your wife has joined you in your pursuit of fitness. That makes it twice as good. Keep up the good work.

If what you are doing is working for you, don't change a thing. Don't fix what isn't broken. When it does stop, then some changes will be good and welcome and helpful. Keep up the great work.

You definately should quit smoking man. If you REALLY want to see results quitting is the answer. Not only will you simply feel better, but you will be able to tackle even more when you are able to breathe better which will yield even better results.
I quit Feb 11th 2001. I started with the patch and after a week just decided to quit cold turkey. The most important part of quitting is actually being sick and disgusted with smoking altogether. It's so much harder to quit if you really still enjoy smoking. Think of it as somthing that is preventing you from gaining the results you REALLY want... Get sick of it and kick the habbit.
