Hi all, first time for me here. This is a fantastic site and I look forward to becoming a regular visitor. I am a female, age 54, with COPD and have just bought a weider 4100 machine and could use some help in starting out. I have not had any type of regular exercise program before and don't know just how to get started. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

One of the easiest ways is to follow the workout sheet that came with the machine. If you do not have this, check out fitness resources button at the top of this page. Fill in your fitness profile, and FT will design a workout to fit your stated needs/goals. Then if you have questions, feel free to post them and we can help you out. Welcome to FT and congratulations on your decision of fitness.

Start out easy and remember to breathe. Which I know with COPD isn't always easy, but it is very important.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is COPD?
Welcome to freetrainers bunglebug, and if you need any advice feel free to ask.
