I've recently started my 8 week diet and exercise program and I've noticed that after every workout I am very "bloated," especially in the abdominal area. It stays this way for several hours post-workout. Someone please tell me this is normal....... I follow my recommended weight routine and diet ----though I think I'm supposed ingest about 300 more calories per day, but I'm working on that----- and I do about 20 min. of cardio following the weights. Am I doing something wrong???

It could be from your body being gorged with blood, but it also could be from drinking a lot of water. I find that after my workouts, my lower abs do seem bloated... But thats just from all the water I drank.

Could you be swallowing air when you inhale to stabilize your core?
I drink a lot of water while I workout, and if I haven't allowed enough time between my pre-workout shake and my workout, I do feel really bloated and sometimes even nauseous (I always think of the Tom and Jerry cartoon where Tom has a bellyfull of water and it sloshes when he walks).
Try sipping a little less pre-and during your workout.
Or maybe you are bloating from something you are eating earlier?
