hey how is everyone, well ill get to the point im a very big fan of traps. Ive worked out for some time and have yet to find anything that i feel that helps me develop the muscle. I need your help. Ive tried to do shrugs but nothing seems to work. I get nothing out of shrugs and in addition to traps i would like to develop that V shaped back. im not sure what the part of the body its called but under the arm and side of back(rows often help work this muscle out) Between my traps and that part of my body that i tried to explain i would like to know the best way to develop it and is it something thats hard to develop. HELP

Well, shrugs are great. How are you doing them? You must go heavy on these, and do not pull with the arms. Imagine your arms/hands as just "hooks" to hold the weight, and shrug with the shoulders. I prefer the seated shrugs, you get a great "pull" due to the fact that seated you can really let your arms hang. Then on the last rep, hold the weight up with shoulders hunched around your ears till it feels like the weights are going to slip out of your hands. Follow that up with a set of upright rows. Supersetting these two are great.
The other part you are speaking of is lats. Wide grip chins are excellent, and second to that would be the lat bar pulldown. For thickness of the lats include bent over barbell rows and or dumbbell rows, even supersetting these two are great.

Good post, bb1fit. In addition to that, I suggest trying behind-the-back shrugs. They're just like regular shrugs but you grip the bar behind your back. These seem to hit the traps at a different angle. They work well for me.
