My first contest is November 8. I'm hoping I can get the money together. I'm so lean already (about 10% and I haven't been trying to lean out) that I won't start dieting until the second week of September. The amazing thing is that I keep putting on muscle, even at that level of fat. I'm going to town with the flexibilty work, I used to dance so it shouldn't take long to get back to where I used to be. I've also got a friend who is helping me with posing and strength moves. I'm both excited and terrified at the same time. Somedays I still can't believe that this body belongs to me.

Awesome!!!!Nerves are good, because when you go for something...and you aren't nervous, its not worth going for....believe your hard work has paid off-and hopefully it will...good luck!!!

Well, congratulations to you. It is a cool thing. The reason I asked is the Rockford is also on that date, I am thinking about doing it. Anyway, being 10% bf now, you should probably be losing about 1 lb. per week, then about 6 weeks out, you will really have to tighten things up some. 10% sounds good, but getting from there to 5 or 4 gets difficult without shedding muscle. That bf will be much harder to shed than getting to 10%. The body starts fighting you very hard. I am in the high 8's right now, doing the same day contest. Good luck to you and congratulations.

Good luck effalunt!!
You will do great! The first show is a great learning experience and you sound like you have the advantage of support from people who have done it themselves!
Have fun, stay with it!

Good. I started my diet yesterday/today. I'm adjusting alright to it, but it is so time consuming to measure and cook and do all that planning. I'm also in school, so the poor people next to me have to watch me eat whenever I'm due for a meal. Actually, they have to smell my tuna which is just like cat food. Ugh! Physically, I've increased a bunch in strength (whoo hoo) and I'm getting better at the holds and strength moves. I've got my routine partly done and I need to go buy costume fabrics right away. Life's a complete zoo.

I know what you mean about the smell. I used to duck behind the desk in the personal training center at the gym to jam 2 fish fillets down inbetween clients. Needless to say, the runners on the track would ask if I was sharing...
Enjoy the commotion and pose, pose, pose!
Strength moves - are you doing fitness? I admire you, at least in bodybuilding routines we don't have to flip or anything!

Yes, I'm into fitness. I'm the right build naturally, and I used to dance, so it's perfect for me.
