Well my first goal was to drop down to 200 pounds.
Now I am down to 173 varying around 12-13% bodyfat (that was goal #2)
And now I can bench more than I weigh! (That was goal #3, benching more than my bodywight. So I put up 185.)
Just wanted to share and tell anyone that they can reach their goals as well... It just takes a lot of discipline.
Strange though, I still think I look chunk when I'm jsu sitting around with my shirt off. Does that mean I've developed a distorted body image? =)

Well I started off kinda slow. I started in December by quitting smoking. At that time I started to lift weights to stay motivated to be healthy and get out some frustration with the iron. A month later I stopped eating fast food. And another month later I stopped drinking sodas. Now my diet and exercise routine are fairly good. Not as great as some on this board though ;) So all in all it's been about six months. I've dropped 45 pounds or so, can finally do more than one pull-up (10 is my record) and I feel so much better.
It's all about choices. One of my girlfriends is trying to lose weight and joined a gym, but then she'll go have six beers and order a pizza.. If you do that all the time, it's just not gonna come off. So I refrain from the pizza and eat my chicken breast while watching my weight come off while hers stays on. I wish more parents would set good examples for their kids. They reward with bad food so now as adults we medicate with it as well. ick.
Anyway, I hope at least part of that diatribe was helpul to you. Take Care and stay motivated.

We are always a lot harder with ourselves......... That's how it is. Don't worry that's not what the others think (but only you. Lol they even might be pretty jealous!)
Congrats on reaching your goals (and keep on staying strong)!!

you may have developed a distorted self image, but i think it may be because we all have a picture in our minds of how we want to look. and even when we do lose some weight or fat we always find something else that needs fixing, tightening, trimming, lessening, or on the other side... more definition, more muscle, more tone, bigger, etc. if you think your self image is distorted maybe you should take some pictures to keep track of your forward movement.
