I've been taking a short break from the powerlifting routine because I started to plateau a bit. I've been doing a mass routine for about 6 weeks and I'm sick of it already. I have less than 4 weeks left of the mass routine but I WANT TO LIFT HEAVY AGAIN!!! I still lift 80-85% of my max, but I miss the 4-5 sets of only 1-3 reps each. I miss the speed workouts. I miss the feeling of potentially being crushed once I unrack the bar. I miss the surge of adrenaline running through my veins as I try a new personal record. I'm addicted. Can't wait 'til the end of the month!!!

I hear ya! When I got done with my last powerlifting routine and went back to a regular workout I kept finding my self slipping the weights a little higher than they should have been. LOL I guess the Iron Beast was a little to strong to control!

I hear you guys only way too loud and clear!!!!

When I first retired from powerlifting, I went into lifting basically for "maintenance"...... YUCK YUCK YUCK YUCK! Sheeeesh, I hated it! That's why, after a several years of that, I had had enough and decided this year to push that military press record.

So how much different are the reps for powerlifting as opposed to reps for the mass routine JBENNETT?

I do a little bit of a combo. I do 6 sets each of two big lifts (supersetted) for different body parts at 3 reps and then 2 sets each of four movements for other body parts at hypertrophy reps. I just started this a couple weeks ago, but it's been fun so far.
