Need help with my stomach

I am a 39 yr old female. Recently, i have noticed i am gaining much fat in my stomach area. I a not increasing my intake of food either but I have never worked out my abs or anything in that matter because it hurts my back to do sit-ups. Any suggestions please leave one. Thank You.

It sounds like you need to take a look at your diet. Also, sit-ups are not the most effective abdominal exercise, perfrom the basic crunch. And of course, if you are not doing so now, include cardiovascular training into your regimen. If you don't have an exercise program yet, this web site offers some great programs, check them out.

Hello Mary.
It's a fact that we get older every single day and our body changes. Now if we don't do anything to keep in shape next to well then it's not a surprise that you slowly gain fat without really haven't started to eat more.....
Why not start one of Freetrainers great exercise routines?

If you do not exercise, as our bodies age, the natural occurance is your fat to muscle ratio keeps increasing due to muscle atrophy and others with the same intake of food. So, even though you are not eating more, your muscle tone is decreasing, thus much or your fat burning "furnace", so in turn more fatty acid stores. There are many things you can do, do not concentrate just on working stomach. You cannot spot reduce anyway. Resistance train your entire body, this will start replacing some of that muscle lost, and start burning more fat immediately. Do some cardio afterwards 3-5 days, and you will be on your way.
