Everybody has their own "clock" when it comes to exercise. I know that in theory, the supposed 'best' time to lift is right after you wake up when testosterone levels are at their highest. However, personally I was never able to do this. I was never able to lift as insane as I did, and then expect to go to work right afterwards!! When I was still competing, I would go to the gym at around midnight or 1am, beat myself silly, come home, eat about a thousand calories, and pass out. It seemed to have worked fine for me without any bad side effects. Bottom line: what ever works for you...

As stated, it is fine. Better to do it than not do it. YOur digestive system works at night too contrary to popular belief. It is somewhat better in my opinion to work out early, due to the fact that you have the entire day to "feed" your working muscles. But, in the end, it comes down to what you eat over time, a day, a week, a month, etc. This adds up to gains.
