I'm lifting a bit heaver now and takeing 1.5 and 2 minutes between sets that a long time to stand around. Is it a good pratice to stretch between sets? The muscle I'm working, the one I'm going to work, or the one just worked?

Even with heavier sets I believe it is better to not stand around for more than a minute. Hit the weight, stretch the muscle a bit and get right back to it, that will cut you up quick

If you are trying to gain mass, you may want to just rest. Savvy powerlifters may bring in a newspaper to read between sets. Allows for maximum muscle fibers to be used on each set, thus producing overload. If you think powerlifters are different, I suggest you take a look at the physiques of some of these guys. Some bodybuilders would kill for it!

dittos to bb1fit, and he's right!
though it may be true that on a dynamic cycle, we may rest only about a minute, on heavy strength cycles, the rest time is AT MINIMUM 2-3 minutes, and even this starts after we've changed the weights on the bar. for example, on a heavy squat day (like 90% 1RM), i would push 8 minutes between sets.

The idea in strength training is overload, not fatigue. You want your muscles as fresh as possible when you hit the heavy weights so that you can put up the maximum amount possible.
