Well Im new here and really want to get cut and have good abs. Im about to start the 12 week AB program here but want to make sure it works dont want to spend 3 months doing it and find out that it isn't that great. I'm willing to put the work in so is there any program that can build my abs faster then 12 weeks?

Tell us alittle about yourself by filling out your profile.
The abs routine works. But remember, NO routine will work if you don't eat properly etc. Also depends on your bodyfat % b4 that 6pack will show.
We could help you more if you tell us more about you.
Welcome to freetrainers.

Well im 19, 6'3" 200 lbs with 13% body fat. I use to be a 3 sport athlete and vert active but ever since Ive finished school Ive been very lazy. I worked out for the first time In a while last night and ran 1 and a half miles fine along with some other cardio and strength training. I made a exercise program today here but it didnt invole anything with abs, so I was wondering what is the quickest program you can give me to get the abs I want. Im willing to put in the work just need to know what to do. Thanks Again for your help

Abs are 20% work, 80% diet. If you work abs to death and build muscle there, without changing your diet, you will actually look fatter. The muscle will push the fat out even farther. Therefore, it is essential to eat a proper diet. When you are trying to get your abs showing, you are pretty much forgoing any other muscle gain, because you have to get pretty lean for them to show. thus you are not giveing your body enough nutrients to really grow any other muscle. So, if you are satisfied with your physique size, then start dieting with high protein, low carbs, and little fat. The carbs you eat should be useful carbs...such as fibrous type. Base your diet in protein. This is essential, as the leaner you get, your body will start to fight to hold on to fat stores, and want to turn to precious muscle tissue instead for fuel. You will get lean if that is all you desire. Do work your other muscle groups of course, to at the very least maintain the tissue you have while burning fat. Throw in 3-5 days of cardio, 2 of them HIIT. Good luck.

Yep and how would you know if it works or not if you don't try?!!!!

Getting muscles has not really much to do with the exercise but the INTENSITY!!!!
YOU are the one who'll make it work........

About abs: as far as I remember, I have always had a "belly pouch", even when I lost 15 lb. and got muscle definition - I never had a flat stomach. However, during my last weight loss (those 15 lb.) I didn't really change my diet - just intensive cardio workouts and light weights. Now I am back at square one - out of shape and starting over, only this time I do want to watch what I eat according to everybody's advice about carbs, fats and proteins. Is there a chance that I will get that flat stomach this time - if I:
1. do cardio 45 min-1 hour 4 times a week
2. lift light weights to gain some muscle and increase metabolism
3. eat high-protein diet with less carbs, little fat or sweets?
Or am I destined to have that "pouch" due to my body type and composition?
Thanks!!

Diet my friend, diet. This is the most important key for any body part, but ESPECIALLY for abs. If you follow the program and have the right diet, you'll see results. Nothing works overnight, you'll have to put in alot of work and alot of time, but the results will come, you just have to be patient.

You want to build your abs in faster than 12 weeks? So you want to be finished building them in less than 12 weeks? I didn't realize there was a completed state for abs. Building muscle is an ongoing process. When that 12 week program is up, you're still going to be doing ab work long after. The 12 week program for your abs just prioritizes them, it is not a complete plan. If you're expecting a six pack immediately at the end of the program, you're probably going to be disappointed.
