Hi,
I'm a new member. I'm 5'6 and weigh 157. I want to be 120. I'm trying my best. I'm a Indian vegetarian. So, I don't know what to eat for protein. I'm doing 40mts walking in my treadmill at 3mph. I want to lose atleast 10 - 15 pounds before new year. Could you please tell me what more i can do. My daily calorie intake is 1400 . Breakfast is slimfast. Lunch - 2 flour tortilas with a cup of vegetable & nonfat youghurt. Dinner - 1.5 cup of white rice , 1/2 cup lentil & 1 cup vegetable. snack would be ( that is a mess,) granola bar and some kind of fruit.
How can I change my food habits too?
thank you

Hi radha_murali, Just to let you know your goals are very real on a vegetarian lifestyle. First though, I would get rid of the Slimfast. Not really healthy. You can get a good soy protien mix with better quality. If you like tofu, it contains good protein. Almond butter as well as almonds are good too. Since fruits and vegetables don't contain all the amiono acids you have in meats which make up complete protien, you have to combine various vegetarian foods together. beans and rice, tofu and quinoa. BUT GET RID OF THE SLIMFAST!! hope this helps.
-------------- To change it, or to create it, simply train it!

Is dairy against your vegetarian principles? If not, then whey protein could be of great value to you. It is the "mainstay" of most lifters as far as protein. Just watch the "blends", some of them (the better ones), have beef plasma peptides or such in them. Good luck...

dairy is against vegan principals, most vegetarians avoid dairy but not completly.
