I'm not sure if it's any better to wait till you're older or not, but make sure to drink plenty of water if you do start taking it.

There's alot of conflicting information on creatine out there.

I've been taking creatine on and off for the last 3-4 years and get a good strengh increase every time I start taking it again. I usually take it for a couple of months and stop again for a couple.

One good thing about it is that if you are taking too much, you'll know right away since you'll be running to the washroom just like you would if you'd taken some ex-lax.

I still havent taking it because my mom believes it to be bad for teenagers. She says I have to wait till I am 18 which will be in a year. I think it is for the simple fact that from research we have found it contains nothing that effects your growth development, sexual development and doesnt cause cancer.

it is known to not be good for teens to take any type of supplements other than essential vitamins and minerals. since this is such a crucial time for growth it may cause damage to your body rather than help it.

i would wait if i were you, just take a good multivitamin and do your exercise and nutrition and you will be good to go.

I would recommend waiting for the simple reason that being a teen, early teen at that, you have alot of personal potential to reach. At your age your potential can be almost unlimited, you need to get to that point first. Creatine is a supplement, and meant to do just that, supplement your diet and potential. If you start taking it too early, will you know if it even worked? The best way to use creatine is when you are stuck, and reached your genetic peak. Then it will be a very useful aid in breaking you past that peak. Your body at this point is probably producing adequate amounts of ATP. Just an opinion here.

When even the manufacturer recommends not taking something until you're 18, you should probably listen.
