Does anyone know the what the pros and cons of starting with a flat or incline bench. I used to do flat first, but now i do incline dumbell then flat barbell. I am now not gaining in my flat bench though. Any Suggestions?

that will happen. Inclines are for most people tough. It is good to switch them up as you have done. When you go back to flat bench first, your bench will go up. I do this periodically to help strengthen my inclines, which are much weaker than my bench. True, my bench drops, but when I go back to bench first, it comes right back. And I am now stronger in inclines than I have ever been.

AND it's a good idea to vary your chest work out once in a while. Not only the exercises but also doing the one you normally do first last etc.

Switching things up is a great way to shock your muscles. I started doing pec deck to start my chest workout (I used to always finish off with this).

Well, I did this for a month and then last week went back to doing flat bench with dumbells first.

I wouldn't have thought it, but my bench actually got better and it was one of my best workouts :)

The body needs variety or else it won't improve.

Thanks for your help. Just wondering ... how often do you usually switch up? thanks.
