Anybody had any luck with this supplement? I've heard from a few people it sucks. Is it that bad?

I'm currently taking ZMA-HP from EAS. I truly believe it works like its supposed to. I've had better workouts and better sleep since I've started taking it. Better workouts could just be a result of the better sleep, but either way, it works for me. Just be sure not to take any zinc suppliment with calcium (they compete for absorbtion).

Two conflicting views. What to do. I'm built like j.b. here so I think I should try it. How long until I quit if I don't see results? Would 6 weeks be a good trial period?

What supplimenting zinc and magnesium actually does is help the body naturally raise testosterone levels. A rise in test. levels will not only help promote and support muscle growth, it will also increase sexual arousal. To be honest with you, that's a great indicator that the stuff actually works. And believe me (ask my wife), it works. That's why oysters are considered an aphrodesiac - high zinc content.
I don't think I'd put this on your "absolutely-must-have" list (like creatine, protein suppliments, and glutamine), but it does help. Like I said before, I'm using the EAS version of the stuff. But, it was patented by SNAC Systems and sold to various companies, so its all the same stuff. Each individual manufacturer may throw other goodies in with it, that'll be the only difference. Hope it helps!
