...i know i know, millions of topics about HIIT and I have done the FT search to read all the HIIT topics, but I need advice....
This message board has done wonders for me shedding the blubber off my body and one major reason is because of the HIIT program. The thing is when i do cardio, the only thing I do is HIIT 4 times a week. I haven't really even begun to start weightraining, all I do is pullups, pushups, and crunches. My question is can I just do HIIT exclusively or do I have to do regular cardio in addition to HIIT? :dumbbell:

All I ever seem to do is HIIT... I like it best... but, like anything else, the body will become accustomed to it and wind up not being as effective...
So, I guess throw in some variety... keep the body guessing...

It really depends on what your goals are. If it is weight loss, then HIIT is the answer - if it is muscle gains, focus on resistance rather than HIIT.

my goal is to obtain a toned swimmers body...even though i still got that damn beer pouch, i have lost alot of fat...but like Timday said, i don't want my body to get used to HIIT and then the fat loss begins to wear off.....to be honest, i LOVE doing HIIT and it keeps me more focused than running for 40 minutes on a treadmill....and after i'm done i feel so wiped out.

I was doing HIIT first thing in the morning...as per the suggestions of another website, I was doing it on an empty stomach... not good while trying to gain muscle... I lost muscle.. wasn't real happy about that...
After reading the cardio stuff over and over and trying to understand it as best I could, I changed it up and am doing it on days off from weights... I'll have some grub, wait a while and then do the HIIT...
Haven't had a body fat percentage taken in a while.. will do that soon though just to see...

I guess i'm the opposite.....I do HIIT in the early afternoon....first thing i do when i wake up is to take a Whey protein shake so I won't lose whatever muscle I have in my body.....then I wait about 90 minutes and then I do the HIIT......then after I'm done I guzzle down some water and then take another protein shake.....this method I use has melted the fat off my body so quickly it's ridiculous....I'm 6 feet tall and weight 180, but all the fat i accrued from sitting on my ass in front of the computer is still around my face and gut......i know you can't spot reduce but I'm hoping the HIIT program will start to get into those fatty areas.......can't wait til Sunday when i start weight training!!
