Im just getting into the groove....The weather has been crappy here for gold ole west virginia!....Just bought me some new clubs and am ready to go!....I've only been out about 8 times this year! *bummer* to much rain!.....So far I have improved my game by 10 shots and came 2-3inches from landing a hole in one in a par 3...Recently went golfing w/ my father and he soiled himself on the 4th green w/ no cart...Long walk but I finished the 18th hole w/ a 92 (par is like 78).

Im looking to get a season pass or something so I can go more often once this weather breaks but dont have $1,000 bucks to shell out!....Anyone know of any discount cards or anything to not break me?

Currently im playing w/ Wilson pro-flex clubs...Im saving up for a pair of callaway's (not new of course) found a nice set on callaway pre-owned for a mere $189.99 cheaper than what I paid for my wilsons  Im a happy camper this summer is going to rock for golf!

I usually only end up going 3 or 4 times a summer, but i really wish I would get out more. Its still only 55 toi 60 degrees here so I havent gone this year. I'm the type of guy whose really happy if he can break 60 on 9,I'm not really built for the game at a fairly lean 250 at 5'10 and i have no upper body flexibility, butI still love the game.

Exactly big...Im only 5'6 165 pounds kind of a thick build and it hurts me to bring my club all the way up dont know why but just not comfortable with it...I dont do it to be competitive but do it just for the mere fact I needed a hobby and gave it a whirl and loved it!....Weather has been nice around 60-80 for the past 3 weeks here but the rain is what is killing the nice temperatures.....

Don't over do the swing, gg. I've known a guy and heard of some other people who fractured their ribs playing golf.
I don't play golf these days, but when I did, i sucked big time at it. Still, i did like walking around the golf course for a few hours, if I didn't run into those canadian geese who owned the course.

Konary-Good advice because it can happen...I choose not to take a full swing because no matter how people show me to swing that club what is good for them isnt good for me....I usually only bring the club a little above waist level NEVER EVER! goes above my head...For one I usually slice it and 2 it just kills me!...Might not be getting the best drives or the best score but it is fun and relaxing! :)

what does everyone think of putting? It just kills me!, if I'm more than ten feet out, i almost always three put, I am dreadful in the putting game.

Goldengloves-get the callaways if you can, they are just sooooo easy to hit. My lovely husband got me a set and they are spanking gorgeous. He also swears by them.
As for putting I find that some days I am spot on and others I steam the ball past the hole so that my second put is further away from the hole than my first!
I worry about my inability to drive 200yards, I can only get to about 180 tops even if I absolutely rage my swing. I was kind of hoping that weight training might help.
I am playing at my home course today (built by the same man who built your splendid Augusta) as it has finally stopped raining in Scotland

big-I hate it!....Im horrible at it I cant make no long puts I usually have to get it close to the hole and just tap it in....

Princess-Yes I do plan on getting those callaways!....The wilsons will have to do for now because I dont want to get the callaways and tear them up or I might buy them and put them away for safe keeping until next summer when hopefully im more "skilled" at it!....I was at a sporting goods store the other day using their driving range w/ a set of nike sling shots those clubs are god like but !EEK! at the $1,999 price tag!

I'm worse than you goldengloves, but I'm playing too. I shot like a 115 couple of weeks ago, but then I got some tips at the driving range from a friend of a friend of Tiger Woods. Man! I've been using these crappy clubs and I got to try out the new Taylor Made X2 and I liked to knock that ball over 300 yards bro!

Anyway, I practiced putting after that. I made a 62 foot putt! It took 150 tries. My wedges and high irons are in place, after I remove a slight draw.

Anyway, if you do find some really good pre-owned clubs (with big faces like Vanna White) let me know where a good deal is!

Aaargh, my round of golf was disasterous and we aborted the round after 9 holes! I was 13 over par after 4 holes and my husband said he is never playing golf with me ever again after I steered my golf trolley into the burn (river)
My own best is 107, husbands is 72, so he gets a bit frustrated with me at times!

What's the stupidest shot everyone's hit?
Mine was when I shanked my ball out of bounds and it hit a corrugated tin roof letting an almighty "BONG" resound across the course.
My favourite story was a friend of mine, who's a big hitter, who hit a fence just next to the tee and ended up with a minus300yard drive!

I've had alot of horrible shots...Lets start off here I wont bore you with a novel so I will give you some chapters.

1st time I ever went out their was people playing on the hole next to me I hit it and hit the guy in the head. He hit one back busted me in the eye made it swell had a black eye for 2 weeks and I took his ball!

2nd time-I was on the 6th hole and their was a few guys cutting the lawn and I hit one smacked his lawn tractor he looked back and ran over it on purpose! *I demanded my money back* (didnt get it)

3rd time-No 3rd time I've been suave as of late.

Ogun,

Always buy clubs off ebay. People who buy/sell there are very reliable.
