I have been increasing what i eat during the day. I eat 3 meals aday and snack on fruit and nuts... I feel that i am eating alot during the day, considerin everything i have read about says to eat 6 to 7 small meals a day..But with my 2 children i cant eat that often..I seem to endup hungry between 9pm and 11pm everynight no matter how much I eat during the day...I have been told that some vitamins make you hungrier... But my question is, isnt 9pm to 11pm to late to be eating since i wont be doing much the rest of the night? If so can u suggest some ways to help me stop the wanting to eat? It doesnt seem to be cravings of any certain thing, just gettin hungry.... Please and suggestions would be greatly appericated.... Thanks

Definitely after 6 PM no carbs. Have some form of salad or protein like handful of nuts, little tin of flavored tuna (those things are my life savers), cottage cheese, or 1-2 oz lowfat cheese, maybe a piece of roasted chicken with your salad, crudities are nice. Try to eat something like the above at 8 PM. NOw the exception is only if you are working out hard late at night. I have a friend who plays soccer games at 8 or 10 PM and then she makes a protein smoothie when she gets home. But you state you are not exercising that late so no carbs for you lol at that time period.

I believe it really depends on the person...I work til 430 then go to the gym an then eat dinner after....therefore not until after 7....It really comes down to daily calorie total and whether or not you are using more than you consume. I try not to eat much about 2 hours before I go to bed....snacking on some carrots or celery will also help as they are low in calories and high in fibre....drink a big glass of water before you eat when you get hungry...this helps to fill you up a bit and gives you time to decide if you are truly hungry or not.....like I said it really varies from person to person.
good luck :)

Yeah I'm gonna have to disagree with the no carbs after 6PM. I believe that if your active and working out your creating a need for extra nutrients. I would say that later in the evening is a good time for some fibrous veggies for your carb intake slow digesting helping supress your hunger before your next meal such as cottage cheese and some natty pb or flax before bed. Thats usually how i do it 2 cups of veggies witgh olive oil and some chicken at around 10PM then at 1230 my pre bed meal. Good spot lonegirl nuts a very dense in calories. One more note I work out in the morning.gl

The only carbs I eat after 6 are veggies. I have hypothyroid and found that timing my complex carbs (grains and fruits) broke my plateau for fat loss. Also after 6 I am generally resting. Went to the gym already and therefore not ready to burn carbs well. I have no metabolism so that is what worked for me.

Ok thats fine, that is what works for you. But to say definately no carbs after 6PM is a strong statement. You say that you eat carbs after 6PM anyway right? As long as they're good complex fibrous carbs in the right amount most people should be ok.:)

very good point....some people work out at midnight or later (like in 24hrs)....so technically there's no really set limit...it depends on your schedule....it depends on your energy needs....but your body has higher metabolic rate in the beginning of the day than at night...so simple carbs are probably best either during morning/lunch or post workout...and complex carbs/fibrous carbs are good anytime...

and yes cans of tuna are life savers...i go through 3-6 some days....go figure...lol....i am a tuna fiend :)...

I usually go to bed around 2-3, so what is the latest that would be alright to eat an actual meal. Justin said he eats at 10, so would like 11 be alright for me?

I work out usually late at night or early in the morning. If I do that what should I eat after(I usually finish around 11pm).

If you go to bed at around 2-3 i would say 11 would be ok for an actual meal and then right before bed i would eat you pre-bed meal with a good slow digesting protein and some good EFA's.
