I don't like working on my abs after my weightlifting because i feel it takes time away from the point i finish my weightlifting to the point i need to get my protein shake in.

I want to know is it better to start off your workout by doing your abs then going into your weightlifting routine and then going for your protein drink?

because if i do my weightlifting then go into abs that tkaes like 10-20 minutes between showering getting dressed and the ab workout combined

but if i do abs first i then go into my weight lifting and take my protein drink

im confused anyone help?

I don't think it really matters... the abs are just like any other muscle... working them is no different than biceps... so I don't think one should assume abs are different... it's still part of your workout...

well You need that protein shake within the hour, so you have plenty of time, they need to be done last due to the fact that your abbs are stablizers for other excercises( deadlifts, squats, cleans etc.) they help keep your back up right. Weither you know it or not your abbs are stablizing your body even on things like tricep push downs. IF they are pre exhausted by doing them 1st your lower back may come more into play, and you might run risk of hurting your lower back. What I do somtimes if i'm in a rush, us ually most people end the chest, and shoulder work outs with biceps, or triceps( smaller muscles) I'll do tricep extensions, then do an abb excercise, then tricep extensions, then another abb excercise. Then kick backs, then hangling leg raises, etc etc, save alot of time super setting them. But I would keep them more toward the end. But thats my opinion some may say other wise.

lol i did assume abs were different, but i thought that it would be bad to give the bigger muscles i work such a break without refueling my body with protein while i work the abs
