Hi,

I just got a fitness plan on this site and am going to start tonight at the gym.

The plan has me doing 4 sets of each exercise, with varying reps.

For example, I'm supposed to do the machine press as follows:

Set Reps
1 20
2 12
3 11
4 10

There is no guidance on what weights to use for each set. I'm wondering, do I use the same weight for each set, or as I move on to a set with fewer reps, should I try to increase the weight?

I'm a 43 year-old female. My goal is to lose weight, not bulk up.

I appreciate any advice.

What I do for dumbbell curls
set 1 - 3 lbs
set2 - 5 lbs
set 3 - 7.5 lbs
set 4 - 10 lbs

you have to see what you can do - does that work your muscles enough?? consider the first one a warm up so light there is fine but you want to work to failure on the last set
