I was wondering if anyone else out there was doing Weight Watchers and using this site for weight/strength training? I have belong to both for a while. However, I got seriously serious on Jan 3rd. I've been following the work out pretty strickly for approximately 4 weeks. However, my weight loss has slowed down.
So I was just looking for anyone else who may be doing both? Or have in the past and what your experience was...

your weight loss may be slowing due to adding quality lean muscle just a suggestion, I havent lost alot of weight but then again I am a guy and have put on quite a bit more muscle, look it from that angle

That's what I'm thinking. Unfortunately I didn't take measurements until the 2nd week of working out and weight watchers. So I've missed my initial inches lost, but I suppose I should pay more attention to that.
I guess I'm wondering if I'll see several pounds come off at once - in a lump sum - in the next couple weeks???

Slowed down to what? If you are averaging a pound a week or even half that you're doing good. Some people don't start losing weight until they've been going at it for much longer than 4 weeks. I'm sorry...I've never done Weight Watchers and I know that is what you were looking for specifically. Just don't get discouraged with the slowing weight loss. Don't give up and it will happen.

Thanks for your support.
Well actually I've lost a total of 5-6 pounds. However, I've really maintained for the last 2 weeks. I figured since I have been doing weight training from the begining that my weight loss may not be as extreme as most newbies to Weight Watchers. But I wasn't sure how long the effect of building lean muscle would prevent the scale from moving.
Weight Watchers teaches you good eating habits. You are required to take a multi-vitamin, drink a certain amount of water per day, at least 2 servings of dairy, and 2 servings healthy oils.
So since I'm eating more sensibly I going to guess that it's the muscle.
I've been doing probably about 200-260 minutes of cardio a week. (Moderate)
My goal is 50 pounds lost hopefully by the end of the summer. However, the last time I got down to the size I was 50lbs lighter I wasn't doing weight training. So perhaps now what I looked like 50lbs lighter then might be me only 40 lbs lighter???? I guess I should just keep trying on a pant size smaller until they fit!!!

I doubt that you have added much muscle in just 3-4 weeks. Weight loss will fluctuate (?) over time. Do not consider the scale but go with inches

I haven't lost any inches either.

Make sure you're still really focused on your diet. I know when I was on WW and increased my exercise I found myself justifying a few extras which were pushing up my caloric intake into a maintenance level. Diet is always key and exercise will help you burn a few extra calories but more importantly will build some muscle (if wt training) which will make you look and feel much better as you loose wt. It'll also help develop some lifelong exercise habits which will be invaluable when you finally reach your goal. Above all, it all takes time, be patient and don't look for continuous wt loss every week, just keep plugging away and you will reach your goals. Good Luck!
