hey what's up everybody, i was just wondering i'm currently 205 pounds and want to get to like 185-190 by january 2003, i was wondering if i should focus soley on cardio and lift light weights occassionally, or should i balance both cardio and lifting weights?

By all means, do both. As has been stated, muscle is the fuel that stokes your metabolism. The more muscle mass you acquire, the more fat you burn on a daily basis. I personally think you should use the cardio to no more than supplement your weight training and proper diet. Done correctly, you will be much better off, and also have "shaped" your body, which cardio cannot do. You want to increase your muscle to fat ratio. Of course, proper diet needs to be a very big part of the equasion. About 80% of it! Good luck...
