I have really bad ankles and cannot walk for more than a few minutes at a time without them swelling and going numb, and they are very painful to the point I feel like can't even hold myself up any longer. At the gym I just do the cycle as I can't do the treadmill. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to start to strengthen them? I have alot of weight to lose, and that is probably a major factor that my ankles are bad, but I am getting bored of the bike and would like to move on to something else. Any specific machines or weights I can use?
Hmmm I guess the very best thing you can do in the begining is what you are already doing: loosing weight and the bike. What about the rowing machine? No weight on your feet either. And swimming is an excellent cardio as well.
Keep on going Marie, you'll see that very soon you'll be allright!!!
