Okay, I started vertical bench crunches today, the only problem is everytime I left my knees to my chest my hip/pelvis area pops on both sides. It's strange, not real painful just sounds like bone rubbing on bone. Any ideas?

If there is no pain involved, then probably nothing to worry about. I know when I do shoulders, I get the popping in my shoulders all the time, but it does not hurt, and been sounding that way for years. I think what you are doing is also called the Roman Chair. If it persists, you may try in its place lying leg lifts.

If yours didn't develop into a problem over time then I'll just keep on. It happens when I do leg lifts too! Thanks

It is an odd feeling, it has kept me from doing leg lefts since High School! I kept thinking I was doing something wrong. I am so determined to get into shape it would have to cripple me to stop me, now! Cjohnson 98 leave your profile so we know who ya are!

Hey,

I have the same thing happen to me when I do leg lifts. It makes me hate doing them because it's weird..

Be careful!! If you do inclined crunches with a weight on your chest make sure it's not to much.. You can get what's called a epigastric hernia.. I found out the hard way..
