Hey everyone, I just joined the site and i'm trying to drop some weight, as our most people around this time of year. Im 20 years old, im 5'10, I weigh 215lbs. Thats a drop from 230lbs that I weighed on Jan 1. My problem is that I stopped losing weight. I want to get down to 190lbs.
I have been switching up my weightlifting routine every 3-5 weeks. I was on a 3 day split, each day focusing on 2 different muscle goups. I recently did a 3 day a week full body workout. My cardio has been about 40 minutes a day, 3 days a week on the elliptical. I know its been a while since I changed it up but I am always checking my HR and its staying between 155-175 for the majority of it.
I have no complex diet. I try to eat 5-6 small meals a day. Mostly diet icead teas and diet sodas for my drink. Im not big on drinking water except for when I workout.
Any tips for getting over the weight loss hump? Im looking at some of the workouts on this site and I am trying to figure which are best for me. Thanks everyone!

Hi Warren! Welcome to freetrainers:big_smile:try making one or two of your cardio sessions HIIT.
Drink water and count your calories for a week to see what you areaveraging - you may be too low or too high to lose weight.
There are a lot of posts about busting a plateau, try a fit buddy search and see what you find!
-------------- Argue for your limitations, and sure enough, they\'re yours.

Thanks. Yeah I have been reading alot of your posts of different kinds of routines. My average calorie intake is about 2000. The past couple weeks I have dropped it to about 1700 to 1900. I have heard of HIT, high intensity training. Whats HIIT? Could you give me an example, I probably know exactly what it is, just never called it HIIT before.

Ok I did the research about HIIT so just ignore that question:laugh:! I like the treadmill one with just adjusting the incline. Do you know of any for the elliptical? Whenever I use the treadmill for a while it really hurts my knees. The elliptical is great because of the low impact! I been searching but im not finding any.
