I used to workout a lot. During the summers, I usually pick up running and run about 4 days a week. However, I'm thin and I lose too much weight when I run. I haven't really worked out since August (until yesterday) and I am pretty out of shape right now. Yesterday I went to the gym and did the rowing machine.. 3.5 miles on one of the lower strength levels. I thought rowing would be good because its supposed to help you gain muscle in many different areas (slight weight gain, rather than weight loss) and for the most part I enjoy it. Should I just stick to rowing, and if so, how many days a week and for how long should I aim? Should I try to do the bike (or something else) on other days? Thanks!
My opinion - lift wieghts to gain muscle (at least 2 days a week) & then do whatever you feel like doing for the cardio - mixing it up is a great thing so your body doesn't get used to lone type.
