Overall cardio training. Good for everything (if you don't have any specific injuries!) AND lots of fun.......

In my opinion the trampoline is an excellent conditioning/cardio piece of equipment, as it can work the entire body. I am by far not an expert in fitness and nutrition but I do have experience with weights and coaching gymnastics. A backyard trampoline is a great cardio option that can do wonders for your endurance and stamina. I personally find using the trampoline greatly improves my balance, and agility. However, results depend on what you're using the trampoline for. I used it mostly for flips and spins and all kinda of rotations. A backyard trampoline, while not as springy as those at Gymnastics Clubs force you to exert more energy in the movement you are attempting.
It's definitely one thing that I try to use often for overall fitness, especially when I'm weight training, as it keeps my body flexible and increases my power/reaction time.
Again, it all depends on what your goals are, but the trampoline is definitely a great cardio option.
I'd be happy to hear any other comments because I only speak from personal experience and do not have any sort of credentials behind me besides coaching trampoline.
