hey,
i'm 20 years old and have been lifting for about 4 years now. i'm 6'4" and around 200 pounds. i have a pretty solid body now after weighing around 160 before starting out. my passion is basketball but i love lifting. the two just dont mix. i've been told i should try out for the basketball team at the college i attend by quite a few people and am thinking about trying it. my question is, how can i get into basketball shape without losing all the mass i've put on??? i understand that playing competitive basketball will definitely drop some muscle mass but i didnt know if there was a suggested way of doing cardio to effectively keep muscle mass loss to a minimum.
thanks

I would suggest you look into the type of training pro basketball players do. Weight lifting is involved.
Check in the powerlifting forum, or use the search engine fitbuddy (botom of the screen) to look up basketball programs, or basketball.
Good luck!

I LOVE bball! I would say work on cardio cause playing bball involves a lot of running around. I would stay away from HIIT cause I have heard you lose mass doing that program. I would do a google search for workouts like asimmer said.

after looking around with fitbuddy, i really didnt see anything that helped much. i dont need help with getting in shape, just more or less wondered how to get in shape without losing a bunch of mass. i guess i just need to know if there is a suggested method of cardio.
