sugar alcohol as an impact carb...

I was wondering if there is a decisive answer to whether or not sugar alcohol affects blood sugar levels. I know protein bars contain it and claim that it isn't an impact carb, making it like a sugar substitute, but then there was question as to whether that was true or not, so I was wondering if a verdict has been delivered...

sorry I haven't heard about that - I know Atkins says it doesn't

Hey. I did some research and found a website that explains it. Basically, it may have a negligible effect on insulin levels but it's still considered a carb, thus being used for energy. It's not like fiber. The link:

yep.....there are a lot of different kinds of alcohol sugars...they all end in 'ol'...
