Just wondering if a can of tuna and a couple of hard boiled eggs is a good enough meal post workout. I can't really afford any shakes right now. Should I be taking in carbs after the workout, as I like some crackers with the tuna. I know I need carbs before the workout. Is a bowl of oatmeal a good idea before hand?

Oatmeal would be a good preworkout carb, with protein.
Post workout you need some fast carbs and some protein. If you can't afford shakes, try cottage cheese mixed with your tuna and whole grain crackers or brown rice.

Perserving, big buckets of protein are very cheap, as is maltodextrin and dextrose. Worth saving up for.
