Tou can try a variation of the squat as well, such as duck squats or front suats. Lunges are good. You could also try Bulgarian deadlifts, which are a variation of straight legged.

ok i know that there has been lots of questions about straight leg deadlifts. Ive had bad lower back problems before from sport, and i know its probably just improper technique but im just not getting it i feel the weight on my lower back no matter how straight i keep my back. So i have just substituted my sld's for more squats. I was wondering whats a betterexercise to substitute in?

You'll need to work your hamstrings differently. What about doing leg curls?
Squats and lunges are fine to work your legs as well.
