Currently I lift weights in the morning and cardio and abs, if needed, in the evening because of time constraints. Is this fine or should I switch them around?

This should be fine...although, you may want to switch them around every once in a while to keep your body from adapting.

Depending on your goals, this is a great thing to do. If you are trying to make muscle gains, this is right up your alley. That way cardio will not interfere in your post heavy workout nutrition and recovery process. And the evening cardio will still keep you cardiovascualrly fit also. Now if you are for some reason trying to lose fat say for a competition, or whatever, then you have to bend the rules some and do cardio immediately following your glycogen depleting workout.
