i've always thought that if you are sore the next day then you may have worked too hard. i worked on my legs on tuesday and they still feel sore.
ive heard of no pain no gain, lol but how long should it take to recover from a workout. And have u ever worked out with a little soreness?

Drink a lot of water, and it's normal to feel a bit sore, it's just your muscles saying "thank you":dumbbell:

DOMS(delayed onset muscle soreness) is natural, especially when first starting out. Some folks get it all the time, others after beginning hardly ever. It is simply a sign of the muscles being exposed to work they are not used to. It will pass. If the soreness is still there then next time it is time to train, simply go ahead and train, but use a lighter weight and clean reps. This will maybe "hurt" a bit at first, but it is called active recovery and will actually ease the muscle pain. (Unless your pain is acute, like something wrong, then of course don't work out and rest)

make sure you are getting lots of protein daily to stimulate muscle regrowth.. about 1- 1.5 gr per lb of bodyweight.
