Plyometrical (or jumping/explosive) exercises. Jumping push ups and when was the last time you did declined dumbell presses?!!!

Change completely the number of reps, sets and rest in between the exercises.

I don't know how much this affected me, it may have just been luck. I had been stuck at close to the same weight for about 3 months on my bench press. A friend of mine gave me this tip and I THINK it helped me push my way out of it. First thing while your fresh on Chest day do 50 reps with just the 45 lbs. barbell, sure I thought how laim - that's nothing 45 lbs. - but I saw real quick that sucker gets heavy after about 30 reps. Another thing I was doing that I think helped - several hours after your chest workout (like that night) do 50 pushups(1 set, 50 reps). I did that and my normal workout for a little more than a month then I took a week off from all of it. When I went back the next week I had gained 40 lbs on my Max. I started noticing a difference right after that week off and in one more week I had gained another 20 lbs. on my Max. That's a total of 60 lbs. (from 175# to 235#) in 3 weeks. Maybe it would work for you? Good luck.

Hey Sean. That sounds great I might have to try that. One question, After the set with just the barbell what were your other bench sets like. ( how many reps and sets?)

Lewdog - I was doing 6 sets. My reps went like this; 12,10,8,6,4,2. The rest of my workout was 3 sets with the incline bench, and 6 sets with the cable crossovers (adjustable rail- 3 sets with the handles set at the top of the rail and 3 sets with the handles at the bottom of it). Take into mind I had a good spotter, ya know the kind that pushes you like a Drill Sargent- the kind that pushes you to 110%.
