smith machine barbell...

How much does the barbell on the smith machine weigh? I know it is an olympic barbell which is 45 lbs by itself. But what is the weight factor when suspended on the smith machine?

The barbell on the smith machine in my gym only weights 15kg (33lbs) and that's with everything (I weighted it!!)

Try asking the owner of the gym.

On one smith machine at my gym it has a sticker on it that reads "unloaded bar weighs 15 lbs, on the other smith machine the sticker says 30 lbs. So it seems to be different depending on who makes the equipment.
