Can doing sit ups or crunches help lose a bit of the flab in the stomach? Im not like fat fat but maybe a small layer...its not the fat that shows but still when im shirtless u can see a little..im just wondering if situps can get rid of that?? If not what would happen if i started doing sit ups?
Thanks

Not really. It might in that you would be exercising and burning calories. It is impossible to "spot" reduce though. You would need to lower your body fat % for your whole body. Situps actually work your hip flexors more than your abs so they wouldn't do too much for you. Crunches though would just define out the abs under the fat. Once you got the bf% down they would show and be more defined.

How many times a day do you eat? I too had this problem, and even when running miles and miles, being very lean, and doing 100s of situps a day, I never had defined abs (I was in the Army). In fact, not until recently when I added 2-3 meals to my plan did my metabolism speed up enough that I was able to SEE abs. It's pretty awesome, the DIET aspect. Eat right, eat often, AND work the abs.
