I run 1 day a week for at least 6 miles. I also do 30 min on a stair stepper after working out twice a week.I average between 3 and 3.5 miles on the stepper. My question is I know I can lift more weight but after my first 2 sets my muscles feel like they are totally constricted and I can't lift anymore than 6 or 8 reps on last 2 sets, staying with the same weight. I'm 6ft 165lbs with a 31in waist. Should I quit running and eat more or try supplements and keep running and doing the stepper? I'm trying to get cut and going for endurance. I've been working out for about 3 months and running for 8 months and starting to see results but not being able to complete close to the full reps on my last 2 sets is starting to tick me off. Any advice would be helpful, thanks

Make sure your eating right.. some carbs before your workout could help your lifting but i'm not too sure if that would work against the cardio you do after your workout or if that would interfere with any kind of cut diet you might be on... You could try to move your running to a bit before your workout then eating a meal then try to lift and see how that works out... mmmm where's rp when ya need em...

Okay...sounds like you run out of energy half way through, or maybe you're just working with weights that are too heavy during the first 2 sets. In any event, you may need to do a few things. However, you must first answer the following quesions. Do you encounter this problem with all of the exercises or just those that target a specific muscle group? Do you currently take any supplements? How's your diet...are you eating enough?

I'ts mostly my upper-body, I don't take any supplements except for a multi-vitamin. A typical day as far as eating goes like this: mid-morning some fruit and yogart, mid day a sandwich and pop, dinner with family, usually lean meat, fish or chicken with rice or noodle dish and a vegatable.

From what you told me about your diet, you're not eating enough! You'll need to eat in-between meals. You don't have to eat big portions...just small ones. Lose the pop for lunch...they'll just make you feel bloated. You're also not eating enough protein. You should be consuming 1-1.5g per pound of bodyweight.
Strength just doesn't come from working out! It is a combination of things that make you strong (eating, sleeping, working out and hydrating). Sounds like you need to modify things a bit...

Are you sure of getting enough vitamines and minerals? I mean often one multi vitamine is good for Mr and Mrs everybody but for very sportive (or stressed) people one multi vitamin often isn't enough.
The very best thing you can do is to get a blood test to make sure of your body having everything necessairy.
