I was given a workout routine (arms, legs and cardio) by the trainer at my gym. After only three weeks (no weight loss, but 2.5 lbs of body fat loss) they want me to schedule another "session" to change my routine. I thought you should stick with a routine for 4-8 weeks before changing it. I know you can get into "muscle memory" and lose the affectiveness, but after only three weeks?!? Does anybody have any advise? I think they're just after my money.

WHY DON'T YOU GET A ROUTINE FROM THIS SITE?

I agree with enoc. You can get one that fits your goals and you can't beat the price!

You've found this site.. why pay someone to give you what you can get for yourself here.
If you even think they are just after your money, then they probably are!!
I work with a trainer once every couple weeks to make sure my form is okay on unfamiliar exercises and that I'm using the equipment properly etc.. I don't mind paying for expertise that I seek out, but I'm pretty skeptical of anything they try to 'sell' me.

Unfortunately I didn't find this site before I got started with a 4-session package at the gym. Now that I've found this site I definitely won't ante-up for any more sessions ... but will still need to change my routine occasionally ... anybody have a recommendation how often?

6-8 weeks for a major change. The mass program is 12 weeks. You need a break from lifting every 6-8 weeks anyway. However, you can change some exercises, order of exercises, rep schemes more frequently. Alot of it depends on how you are responding to your routine. If you're seeing results, why change?
