Hi everyone, Im new to the community and I am about to begin my workout regimen again today with the goal of burning a little excess fat and becoming overall more toned.

What are som tips for me to get back into working out without overtraining or stressing my body too much? Also, should I run before lifting weights or lift weights before running?

Hi Shawndme. Have you started an exercise program here at FT? The ones here are very beneficial and can start you on the right path towards your goals of fat reduction and muscle tone forefront. I also find it helpful in ensuring that all muscle groups get worked - none get neglected and you can enter the amount of days you train per week and the program divides the exercise groups up very well. Try to do the amount of reps suggested in the program with a weight that will make you work a bit to complete the last 2 or 3 reps of each set. Trial and error will work here and after a few workouts you will know what weights are best for you.

In response to your other question, I would weight train first, cardio second.
