What do you do during an off week to rest between routines? Is it zero gym time, just cardio, light weights? I can't imagine not hitting the gym - though I'm aware of the risk of overtraining.

What do you do during your rest week?

If you feel good, some "active" rest may be in order. I like doing this. No need to be a slug! Some cardio is good, do some yardwork, etc. I would stay away from the weights totally, especially if you did a failure routine most all the time of your cycle. Most people don't realize it, but the muscles are fine. It is tougher on the ligaments, joints, and nerve endings to keep up with that type of heavy all out work, so they need to be rested. Plus, your mental attitude when you go back will be I can't wait to get under that iron!!

As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it.
