hi, I was just wondering if I should rest after each set you do on your workout. If so, how long should each rest or break be.

Kasper- there's no pat answer for that one. You should allow enough recovery time to get through your next set(s) but not as long as some of the folks that just go to the gym to socialize. :) I personally, take very little time between sets but I'm also one of those people that doesn't enjoy pure cardio so I have a tendency to do more of a circuit routine.

Kasper, as Mike says, this is a grey area, but I think the general consensus is 30-60 seconds between sets. Some rest for the minimum for smaller muscle group exercises, and the maximum for larger muscles like back and legs. Anything longer than 90 sec. is probably too long. Anybody out there disagree?

The rest in between the sets depend on your goals and how heavy you lift. Please fill out your profile and tell us more.

you should have enough rest time, so that you have the strength to go on. Don't rest for you know, 20 minutes or something lol. Just rest enough, but yet still challenge yourself
