Hello All,

I really need some advice here. First I'll give you a little information about myself so you can kind of get an idea what your dealing with... I'm one of those obsessed people who watch every little thing they eat. I'm 5'8 and about 148lbs. My goal is to weigh, 138lbs. So, my work out schedule consists of 3 days a week of 45 min of aerobics and 20 min of training and floor time. I've been following through with this schedule for almost a year and weighed in yesterday only to gain 3lbs. I realize everything is not about weight but I feel bigger too. What am I doing wrong? Is anyone else having this same problem? I admit I'm much toner than I was but, the feeling bigger thing makes me so depressed.

Ok first of what are you eating? And do your clothes fit better? I hate the scale method so many use to gauge how they are doing. AS you replace fat with muscle you will gain weight, but your overall size will go down. You could in fact weight 150 and fit into clothes of a 138lb person. If you are not eating right you will not see the gains you want. I would add more weight training into the mix and see what happens....good luck and do not give up...try changing the way you workout first.

Hmmm...this is one of many posts I've seen lately about giving up. You probably hit a plateau and have just been maintaining your weight. Either that or you've gained muscle weight to replace lost fat and water weight. Either way, you still want to lose a little bit of weight. How's your diet? Have you tried increasing your aerobic activity to 4x per week? What does your 20 mins of training consist of? Tell us more so we can try to hone in on how to get you out of your plateau...

I'm on the Atkin's diet but allowing myself up to 40 carbs a day. I guess my biggest upset is....my jeans are tight. I want to get smaller not bigger.

OK if you are on the atkins diet and are not loosing the weight you might want to look at that and see if maybe you are not doing it right. Not saying you are doing it wrong just that with the people I know on it the loose a good amount at first then taper off, so maybe a new diet plan is in store ( how long have you been on it?). I would really cut the cardio down and add more weight training, and maybe even take a week off or more at first to give the body a chance to regroup. I know on that diet the low carbs can effect the training you do and have weird results. Just hang in there.
