Hi guys! I am a 37yr old Senior Technician with Dell computers. My daily tasks include sitting at my desk 10 hours a day and drinking Mt. Dews. I am 6' and weigh in at 240. About ten years ago I was up to a brown belt in Zen Bu Do and in great shape. I am in need of serious help. I am ready to start my life over and do what it takes to be happy with myself again. The first question I have is about calorie intake. I have read that my body requires anywhere from 1500 - 3750 calories a day. I need a number to base my intake on to lose the fat. I guess I'm fishing for a mentor.

Welcome to ft! This is the best place to reach your goals..

First of all.. congrats on deciding to make a change. Next, go to your Nutrition Program under 'myFT - Personal Info' in the top menu. There fill out your profile and you'll get the amount of calories and other factors required daily.

Good Luck.. and keep us posted!

Yes, welcome here!

After having done your nutrition program as written by Arnold, then find an exercise program that correspond to your needs.

You'll see, it'll be all fine. Luck to you!!!

Well one things is that you have to make sure that your caloric intake is lower than what you burn in a day. This will help you to burn that unwanted fat. Exercise with weights, do cardio, and eat healthy. These things will help get you in shape and feeling great again.
