hey whassup everyone
K, got a few questions.
1 - I recently started HIIT and i do so for 20 mins and run about 2.6 km in that time period. Before i started HIIT i was doing a 20 min run and ended up running around 3kms in 20 mins. Both ways are quite difficult & i end up losing more calories the 2nd way. My question is which run is better, the HIIT or the way i was running b4 hand in terms of increasing my metabolism etc?
2 - Ok when i do my cradio work out which is the running mention above I also do my weight training on the same day
is this a bad thing?
I do the running after the weights though and i do cardio and weights 5 times a week.
3- since im on my summer vacation i basically have a bad sleeping pattern n therefore a bad meal pattern. It goes like this. I wake up at 2:30/3 pm, eat my "lunch" at this time then go to the gym at 5:30, at the gym for 45 mins or so then come back n have dinner at 9 then go to bed at 3 am.
question is, should i be eating a large dinner still or a small one? since its my 2nd meal of the day, or should i eat a large lunch and small dinner?
I would go to the gym in the mornings but it's only for women at that time, and it opens for men at 4.
A long post i know.Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

1. You may not see as many calories on the readout doing HIIT, but over the course of a day, you will burn more calories. HIIT is both aerobic and anerobic, thus the difference. But do not do it daily, your body will adapt and you will not get the same benefits. Mix it up, regular and HIIT.
2. Depends on your goals. For max fat loss, after training can be beneficial due to glycogen depletion. For longer term concerns, opposite days or 6-8 hours later can be better for muscle gain.
3.Your best bet is to consume 5-6 smaller meals per day. At no time will a "large" meal really benefit you. More feedings of quality foods will result in better absorbed nutrients, upping of metabolism, and all around better health. Never go that long. Try to go a maximum of 3-3 1/2 hours without a meal. Going longer, your body can cannabalize muscle tissue(catabolism) to get whatever it needs, so you are defeating the very muscle growth you are working so hard to achieve in the gym.
-------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it.

so HIIT is a more productive running than my previous 20 min running at a constant pace for 20 mins? As in wont the latter form of running also increase my metabolism?
And I eat at 2:30/3 then go to the gym at 5:30 so that I have a 3 hour period for digestion b4 i start the HIIT so that i lose my fat instead of taking the energy from the meal i just ate as I read in an article here.Is that the correct method of going about things?
Come back home at 6:30 n then dont eat for an hour after the workout as i also read, so that makes it 7:30. This is the earliest possible time i can have my dinner.
So Lets say i have my dinner at 8.
This would equal me having only 2 meals in the day. Should I then have another meal later at nite? around 10 or 11?
Im kinda confused, any help would be great! and thanks for the msg b4hand too!

As bb1fit said you should be having 5-6 small meals a day, no matter what hours your day consists of. My husband works nights so his day starts at 4pm and ends at 9am. In that time he eats 5 or six times.
