Well, since I'm on late, I'll go ahead and throw my 2 cent in, for what it's worth:
Depending on the antibiotic, they "kill" different types of bacteria (broad spectrum, etc.), and they do it in different ways. Look at an antibiotic as a selective poison. It is chosen so that it will kill the desired bacteria, but not the cells in your body. Each different type of antibiotic affects different bacteria in different ways. For example, an antibiotic might inhibit a bacterium's ability to turn glucose into energy, or its ability to construct its cell wall. When this happens, the bacterium dies instead of reproducing. At the same time, the antibiotic acts only on the bacterium's cell-wall-building mechanism, not on a normal cell's.
I would probably still take most of my supplements if I were you. Your body needs the extras now more than ever. However, definitely ask your Dr regarding your them vs the antibiotics. For example, the -mycin family of antibiotics are very sensitive to dairy, and are rendered less effective when taken with such products.
Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon.
