Anyone know a good workout to prep for pullups? I've never been able to do a pullup in my life, and now I've decided to do it. Any specific shoulder/arm training that helps? Thanks.

the primary muscles you use when doing pullups are in your back. doing lat pulldowns and rows are a good place to start, also hanging on the bar until you can't anymore will develop grip strength.
see if you can get someone to spot you doing pullups as well - that will help your body get used to the idea of completing the movement.

also please not that yoiu should not use the top of your door frame as it will rip it off.

Also, please note that thinking you can do one just because you pull your pants up every day is incorrect.

Thank you all..very good suggestions. I don't think I can cut the whole in the floor though..might cause a ruckus.
